Cuenca's Taxis

Taxi fares are very inexpensive in Cuenca, they start at $1.50 USD during the day and $1.75 USD during the evening hours. The longest ride through the city will run around $3:00 to $5:00 USD depending on the time. Tips are not expected but are welcomed. 

 

If you are returning to the apartment, you can say to the driver to take you to “Avenida 12 de Octubre, frente al Parque Tarqui-Guzho”.

Cuenca's Tranvía

Tranvía and Bus services require a payment card, please note it’s not the same card for both. To obtain or recharge your payment cards, go to the Etapa office located at Calle Tarqui 9-76 and Gran Colombia.

Cuenca's Buses

Public buses are accessible and can be spotted all over town, however some routes are limited. It costs $0.30 USD, and runs from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.

 

Many people use the Moovit website or the Moovit app to view routes and plan trips. Tranvía and Bus services require a card, please note it’s not the same card for both. To obtain or recharge the cards, go to the Etapa office located at Calle Tarqui 9-76 and Gran Colombia.

Most popular rental car models are stick shift (manual) but there are some Automatic models as well usually at higher rental rates.

Typical rental rates may vary throughout the year, they can start at $30.00 USD per day for compact cars and around $150.00 UDS per day for SUV’s and larger vehicles.
